Washing Machines
Washings machines are also called as washers and the main cleaning agent in such machines is water. The agitator is the main part that is responsible for cleaning clothes in a washing machine and its design varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. The earlier versions of washing machines were operated by hand and it took off most of the labor that went in cleaning clothes. Until electricity became widely available the earlier washing machines were driven by gasoline engines which were single cylinder and also operated on low speed and these machines were largely made out of wood but as technology improved metal began to be used in the construction of the washing machines.
The modern day washing machines come in the varieties of front loading and top loading. The top loading washing machines are mostly preferred in the US, Canada and Australia while the front loading washing machines are popular in the Middle East and Europe. The front loading washings machines have simple mechanism as compared with the top loading machines. The drum lying on sideways creates a particular technical problem for the front loading machines. The top loading washing machine does not have any of the technical problems which the front loading washers have. You can a buy a variety of washing machines on the internet, however one can find authoritative information about washings machines at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washing_machine.
